An image of the 79th Cameron Highlanders advancing down the hill at the end of the battle of Waterloo. My ancestor Noble Sproule was in their ranks and survived unscathed through one of history's great battles. The majority of his regiment were either killed or wounded in the three days of fighting. The only officer left by the end was young Lt. Cameron, shown here leading the advance. Piper McKay is also depicted. He gained fame for bravely marching around the 79th's square playing his pipes during the massive French cavalry attacks.
